A product of a small town upbringing, I grew up naive, independent, shy and without a real understanding of whom God is, what my place in a family meant and what living with purpose is all about. That changed when I was 17 and "got religion." Now in my mid-40's I look back on a life of accomplishment, purpose and close family. I am driven, creative and completely self-absorbed. I need my wife Joy to keep me grounded and within the boundaries of real love. I have my daughters Sara and Aubrey who make me think and act outside my well constructed comfort zone... they don't succeed as much as they would like -- but I'm trying.

A boy from Ferndale, California, a graduate of LIFE Bible College, a member of Jeremiah People, a booking agent for Christian Artist's Agency, a construction superintendent, real estate agent, California licensed general contractor, certified fitness instructor, multiple winner of the California Wine Tasting Championships, a man who cries too often, laughs too little and worships God a lot. I want to live as one, "who with unveiled face reflects the Lord's glory, and is being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18 I've been married to Joy for 21 years. My daughter Sara is 20 and an artist of words, attends University of California at Irvine. The other daughter, Aubrey is the visual artist, is 18 and a senior at La Quinta High School. My wife, Joy, is the hardest worker I know and makes me laugh at stupid things...Generally, I don't laugh at stupid things. Just ask anyone who knows me.

My favorite things in life are... stirring worship songs that make me fall to my knees, my Felt B2, Whitehall Lane Cabernet, Camping with my family, A Prairie Home Companion, creme Brule, Lyle Lovett, my tattered RSV Harper Study Bible, Andrew Murray Viognier, Villa Toscana, Aubrey's artwork, Holding 100's on the 1:25, Os Guinness, Sara's poetry, Diana Krall, Joy's cooking and a race called the Ironman.

My personal mission statement:

"I live to see lives changed, endeavor to communicate hope to the hopeless and be a real Christian before everyone because God is real before everyone."

Mario comes from a background of Music. As a professional drummer, he was part of a band called General Public. After his time of being a "rock star", Mario settled in to a career of teaching. For a number of years, Mario taught high school kids in Orange County. Fortunately for us, Mario was persuaded by a good friend of his (Jon Talbert - South Hills Church College Pastor) to move up here and take a job as the South Hills Singles Worship Leader.

Four years later, Mario received a call to reach out to the Evergreen area of San Jose. As our Worship Pastor, Mario has a multitude of duties. Beyond the obvious job of putting together the music and shepherding the Worship Band, Mario is involved in every aspect of a Sunday Morning Service. Mario oversees the Multi-Media Team, the Sound Team, the Site Team, the Performing Arts Ministry, the Programming Team, and the Creative Team.

Mario has a passion for reaching people where they're at and works hard to provide an environment where today's Silicon Valley resident can enjoy service as well as connect with God. Mario lives in San Jose with his wife Cheryl and their three children, Madeline, Emily, and Gian.

Ernie comes to Twin Oaks Church with 9 years of experience of working with youth; 4 of those as a youth pastor over junior and senior high.  His wife Cory has worked with him every step of the way.

They both have a passion to see youth have a life changing encounter with God and then take that and allow God to use them to change the lives around them.  They both know that God has created each and every teen with plans and purposes in mind.  Their goal is to help them discover what that is and to start to live lives that are bigger than themselves.  When youth start to see themselves how God sees them, then there is no stopping them.

Ernie loves to teach the bible and show how relevant it is in their lives.  He also loves to mentor and disciple.  Cory has a passion for worship and mentoring.  She has worked with teens who have a heart for worship and has helped them grow as worshippers and develop their skills.

They both like to laugh and have a lot of fun.  Ernie likes sports (go Dodgers) and they both like to travel whenever possible.
